New equipment
New possibilities
Dear NU community, we are excited to share our news!

A brand new experimental setup has been successfully manufactured and tested at the NURIS's Machine Shop by the order of Dr. Christos Spitas, Professor of the School of Engineering.

The research group of Dr. Spitas is developing a monolithic honeycomb "sandwich panel" for future spacecraft application.
The researchers expect that the use of "sandwich panels" will reduce the weight of spacecrafts by 25-30% and improve the accuracy of space observations.
The new experimental setup allows to produce "sandwich panels" by squeezing materials under pressure up to 300 bar and temperatures up to 500 - 600 °C.
We not only pride ourselves in reacting quickly and efficiently to the needs of our customers but endeavor to provide them with additional levels of knowledge and advice on how to get the best out of their machines which is vital in taking their business forward.
