In this project a number of laboratory tests were performed in order to investigate the characteristics of the corrosion in pipelines. | | In 2017 the Environmental Science & Technology Group (ESTg) received a request from NURIS to collaborate on a project with KPO on pipeline corrosion. Being a platform for cooperation between science and business, NURIS helps professors and scientists to fulfill their scientific potential and position NU as a research university. Thus, for ESTg was an excellent opportunity to extend its activities and open a collaboration with the industry.
A team of Research Assistants under my supervision worked on the project in all phases from conceptual design, detailed technical design testing unit, sampling and analysis of the pipes. The testing was located in the Technopark of the University.
The outcomes of the performed test were particularly interesting and useful for the client. Based on this project ESTg is expecting more similar and larger in scale projects from KPO.

| | Within the project execution, NURIS Contract Research Office was in charge of the whole project's logistics, from procurement to development of the testing unit.
NURIS Prototyping center was deeply involved in construction of experimental facility.
Our Office acquired valuable experience during project implementation, and we hope to continue working on such interesting projects together with our scientists and researchers.
